SRFC - 6th April 2025 - Football Weekly Update

Results for all our Stanway Rovers teams - since our last football weekly update (on 31st March, 2025):


Running Football

First:

  • 01/04/25 @ 19:45 - Benfleet FC 0-2 Stanway Rovers Community FC (League)

  • 05/04/25 @ 15:00 - FC Clacton FC 1-5 Stanway Rovers Community FC (League)

    • Stanway Rovers Goal Scorers: Jamie Bennet (2), George Okoye, Tom Maycock, Natt Mardell

  • Our First team play in the Essex Senior Football League

  • With 85 points from 35 matches and a GD of +61, our first team remain 1st (last week = 1st) in the league (20 teams in the league). We have 3 ( one away and two home) league matches remaining.

    • With three matches remaining for us, it is still going to be a very tight run in to the end of the season. Although some results went our way this week (the teams in 4th, 5th and 6th place in the league can no longer win the league), it is still mathematically possible for both Woodford Town (2nd, with 78 points and 3 matches remaining - possible points = 87) and Takeley (3rd, with 77 points and 4 matches remaining, possible points = 89) to finish in top spot of the league at the end of the season. So please get there and cheer on (and make as much noise as you can for) our team at as many of our final three matches as you can.

    • NOTE: our final 2 homes matches are next on the schedule for our First team (11th and 18th April). These are our two matches where "Kids Eat Free", so bring your kids along, make a lot of noise and cheer on our team - and they get free hot food.   • With no match for our Ladies First team this week, we remain in 10th position in Division 1 of the Essex County Women's Football League

  • With 10 points from 13 matches and a GD of -13, our Ladies First team are currently 10th (last week = 10th) in the league (11 teams in the league). We have 5 matches remaining.
