SRFC - 14th April 2025 - Football Weekly Update

Results for all our Stanway Rovers teams - since our last football weekly update (on 6th April, 2025):


Running Football

First:

  • 11/04/25 @ 19:45 - Stanway Rovers Community FC 2-1 Halstead Town FC (League)

    • Stanway Rovers Goal Scorers: George Okoye, Ross Wall

    • This game sees our first team clock up their 100th competitive goal scored in the league this season. An outstanding achievement.

  • Our First team play in the Essex Senior Football League

  • With 88 points from 36 matches and a GD of +62, our first team remain 1st (last week = 1st) in the league (20 teams in the league). We have 2 ( one home and one away ) league matches remaining.

    • Takeley (in second place) are now the only other team in contention with us for the title of 2024/25 league champions. And they are still fighting hard, securing a 2-1 home win against Sawbridgeworth Town in their latest match 2-1. With Takeley and us only having two remaining matches to the end of the season, and with us leading Takeley by 5 points, a win for us in our final home match of the season will see us secure the top spot as league champions - with one match to go. And securing the title before our final match will be a far more "comfortable" finish to the season for us, because our final match of the season is against - TAKELEY - at Takeley!

    • So please, come along for our final home match of the season. Cheer on (and make as much noise as you can for) our team - and help us secure the title without having to play what would become a humdinger, nail biting, end of season decider - at Takeley!

    • NOTE: our final home match is next on the schedule for our First team (Saturday 19th April, against Athletic Newham). This is our second match where "Kids Eat Free", so bring your kids along, make a lot of noise and cheer on our team - and get your U18 some free hot food. U23's:

  • 12/04/25 @ 15:00 - Stanway Rovers U23 3-0 Haverhill Rovers U23 (League)

    • With 31 points from 21 matches and a GD of +18, our U23 are 3rd (last week = 6th) in the league (12 teams in the league). We have 1 match remaining.

  • We have a vacancy for U23 Team Manager and Coach for the 2025/26 season. With many of the title winning U18 team stepping up to the U23 team next season, this is an exciting opportunity for the right person. Click on this link for full details:
