It's Reece Conway who has been handed the Captain's armband. We caught up with Reece with his thoughts on being named first team captain. "It is an exciting time to be part of the club and after meeting with Rick and Jamie it is clear what the objective is and the journey we are on as part of this project. I am proud and extremely grateful to be trusted with the captains armband and I will do all I can to set the right example both on and off the pitch and ensure the right standards are maintained throughout the season to be successful on this journey. TONIGHT the first team welcome Harlow Town to the Hawthorns in the second round of the BBC Essex Senior Cup. Harlow made the second round after a 3-1 win over Burnham Ramblers last month, the Rovers beat Cannons Wood 4-0 to secure their place in tonights fixture. A win tonight could mean a tough challenge as in the third round teams competing in the Isthmian, Southern, National League and EFL will join the competition. Both sides will be looking to keep to winning after good results at the weekend, it was a 3-0 for the Rovers over Buckhurst Hill and for Harlow they won 6-0, over Burnham Ramblers. This will be the first home match for the new management team, we very much look forward to providing a warm welcome to both Rick & Jamie. Stanway Rovers have signed, ex Enfield Captain, Reece Conway. Reece Conway, the first signing under the Rovers' new management team, led former Essex Senior League team, Enfield, to promotion into the Isthmian League Premier Division last season as Captain. Former clubs for Reece also include Heybridge Swifts, Walthamstow and Great Wakering Rovers. An exciting signing for the Rovers, Welcome Reece. #WeAreStanway

2 days to go till the 3rd Qualifying round of the FA Youth Cup. Following a 2-1 away win over Great Yarmouth U18s earlier this month, the Rovers now face Barking this coming Friday at the Hawthorns, it's a 19:45 kick-off. We heard from U18s Captain, Joe Freathy, with his thoughts ahead of the game: "We, the U18’s, have been on an exciting journey in the FA Youth Cup, and we are more than ready to face a respectable opponent in the upcoming fixture against Barking. We understand it will be a tough challenge, but we couldn’t be more eager to leave a further mark and create a new chapter in the club's history. Our strong run in the FA Youth Cup so far speaks volumes about the team's commitment and dedication to the game. Everyone has consistently delivered solid performances week after week, and their aim is to continue this streak of success together..." "...In addition to our historical FA Youth Cup journey, we recognise the importance of the Thurlow Nunn games as well as the EJA. Winning these matches is crucial if we want to secure the league title for yet another year. Despite a less than ideal start in the Thurlow Nunn league, we are is fully prepared to take on the challenge and strive for a fourth consecutive championship. Stanway Rovers Football Club announce new first team management. We can stop the speculation and confirm what many of you have already guessed, and announce our new management team. In a real coup for Stanway as Jamie Shaw and Rick Andrews, have committed to join the ‘Rovers Revolution’ and have accepted the role as First team Managers , they will be joined by a familiar face, Jon Moody, who steps up after a very successful spell as the Under 23’s Head Coach. Rick, who left Stowmarket Town in November 2020 after seven successful seasons, including promotion in 2017. When Andrews departed Stowmarket, they runaway leaders of the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division and 39 games unbeaten in the league. He then moved onto AFC Sudbury in the 21/22 season, when with Angelo Harrop they enjoyed a great season including a memorable FA Cup Run reaching the and a seventh place finish. Jamie Shaw combined playing duties with team affairs, last season they achieved promotion to step three via the play-offs. Jamie a former player made over 100 appearances for Rovers, and is sill playing now, though will hang up his boots to concentrate on the challenge in hand. He's a local lad who's knowledgeable and experienced at Step 4 level, as they strive to take Rovers to the next level. The trio will take their first training session tomorrow as they prepare for Saturdays re-arranged fixture away to Buckhurst Hill. #UpTheRovers | #WeAreStanway

There was a real feel good feeling in the clubhouse yesterday afternoon, coming from 1-0 down to win 3-1 against a strong Romford team. A much deserved win for the young team who have worked tirelessly not just today but over the last few weeks. With goals from Max Sherlock, Joe Debell (Man of the Match) and Tom Lewis. A great day for some of the boys & girls from our youth teams too, definitely lucky mascots for the senior side. Bringing through the next generation of Rovers. The Under-23s drew 0-0 away to Tiptree Heath Yesterday, a good result & performance considering the circumstances within. Fantastic strength in depth, lots of excellent performances from U18 lads, we’re so pleased with the players who’s attitude throughout the start of the season has been superb. Next up at the Hawthorns, the U18s face Barking in the 3rd Qualifying Round of the FA Youth Cup this Friday 20th October for a 19:45 Kick-Off. #WeAreStanway

Last night Stanway Rovers Football Club accepted the resignation of First Team Manager, Karl Duguid. Karl has been a fantastic person to have around the club and has conducted himself exceptionally through what has been a tough start to the season.
